UBER services are available at the airport and in the capital city of Dhaka.
The delegates are advised to regularly check online for updates about the most recent security situation in Bangladesh. Below are two websites, which provide such details.
Delegates should not travel alone outside of the hotel premises without prior consultation with the organizers. If prior notice is given and the group is large, it might be possible to assist with host officers/vehicles.
Registration will be open from December 20, 2018 and continue up to morning of June 29, 2019 at the conference venue. You are advised to register before the conference.
The Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden provides an extensive collection of buffet items. However, if delegates have any special dietary requirements or allergies, please convey all related information to firstname.lastname@example.org. The organizers will make any necessary arrangements with the caterers for alternative options.
Please note that UNICEF and JPGSPH will not be responsible for any food allergy-related incidents. It is the participants’ responsibility to inform the organizers of any specific needs.
Requests for visa application should be submitted to the Bangladesh High Commission in the delegate’s home country or country of residence. A visa support letter would be forwarded to the participants following confirmation of participation.
During the month of June-July the average daily temperate in Dhaka ranges from a maximum temperature of 34°C (93°F) and a minimum temperature of 23°C (73°F) approximately. It will also be in the middle of monsoon season, so it is advisable that you bring rain jackets/boots as well. It is recommended that you monitor the weather forecasts prior to your arrival. For current weather forecasts please visit:
The time zone in Dhaka is (UTC+06:00).
The currency of Bangladesh is the Bangladeshi Taka (BDT). Most major international currencies can be exchanged at verified money exchange facilities located in the airport and inside the hotel. It should be noted that exchange rates might vary from one exchange to another. The present exchange rate is around 85BDT per 1USD. Major credit cards (i.e. VISA, MasterCard, and American Express) are also accepted in Dhaka.
Though not mandatory, adding a tip of 10% to the total of your restaurant bill is a way of showing gratitude if the service was satisfactory. In some circumstances restaurants might automatically add a 10% tip as a service charge. You are recommended to examine your bill before paying.
Bangladesh operates on a 220-volt, 50 cycle AC (the same as Britain and Australia). North American appliances will need an adaptor and a converter, while dual-voltage appliances will simply require an adaptor. Adaptors may not be readily available thus we recommend getting a universal plug converter.
In case of any emergency, you may contact the hotel or at +8801671160618 for information or queries.
