Fahmida Shabnam has been working in the development field for 20 years. She worked pre-dominantly in the education sector with a strong focus on inclusion. She worked with international NGOs, the UN and bilateral donor agencies. She led design negotiations with the government on the primary education sector programme, led technical working groups reviewing progress against DLIs. Her role in defining programme focus, results and influence through the civil society and private sector in education has been widely recognised. Her leading role in institutionalising the teacher training model of the English in Action, funded byDFID, has been instrumental. She completed her Masters in Philosophy from Dhaka University, Diploma in Education from BRAC and received education leadership training from Harvard, and RCT research methodology from J-PAL, MIT.
