Dr. Asampong is currently the Dean of the University of Ghana School of Public Health, a Professor of Women’s Reproductive Health and Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist with the University of Ghana Hospital. He lectures in public health and population studies and has developed a number of interactive web-based educational materials in obstetrics and gynaecology which are used by students and practitioners all over the world.
He has extensive experience in the fields of maternal mortality and morbidity reduction, contraceptive use by women and cervical cancer screening. In addition to clinical practice and public health education, Dr. Adanu also serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics. He currently leads a consortium of 11 African universities to facilitate an educational mobility program funded by the European Union.
