Dr. Oldenburg is Chair of Non-Communicable Disease Control and Director of the Centre for Health Equity in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne. He is a behavioural scientist and an expert in the prevention and control of chronic conditions. Dr. Oldenburg’s research program focuses on health policy and the prevention and control of cardio-metabolic conditions and their mental health co-morbidities.
He has extensive experience in research training and capacity building programs in Australia and other countries, particularly in the Asian Pacific and Africa. Dr. Oldenburg’s work has led to the development and evaluation of new healthcare technologies and mHealth interventions. He has been involved with numerous intervention trials, their evaluation and scale-up in a variety of settings in Australia and other countries.
He has been an advisor to the World Health Organization and many other NGOs and governments. Dr. Oldenburg has produced >300 publications with more than 200 in peer-reviewed journals)
